  Note
t  The diesel version is shown on the figure.

t  For the diesel version, the heating element for fuel preheating -Z66- (Pos. -A-) is installed firmly at the combustion chamber. The cables are connected with the cables of the glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8-. In the case of this version the complete combustion pipe must be replaced, if the glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8- is defective.
Removing

–  Raise the clip -A- on both sides using a suitable screwdriver and remove the glow plug -B- with flame monitoring -Q8-.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
  Note
t  The glow plug -B- must be fixed in the exact position with the clip -A- in the ceramic housing. A faulty position can cause problems during the combustion (e.g. build-up of smoke).
t  The non-insulated connecting lines to the glow plug must not touch or rest against any other components (risk of short circuit).
t  Proper functioning of the glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8- can be checked using the → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the function „Targeted fault finding“.
